On arrival at Bordeaux Airport

From the arrivals hall to each way in
Finding the station

The tram stop, "Aéroport", is on the forecourt in front of the terminals by Hall B, beside the Parking Express. Take any line F tram: every one runs through Mérignac into the old town, most on to Gare Saint-Jean.

Finding the stop

The 30'Direct shuttle to Gare Saint-Jean, and buses 33 and 39, leave from outside Hall B at door 7, near the billi terminal. The shuttle sets down at the station's Hall 2, on the forecourt by the information desk, the city-centre side.

Tickets

TBM tickets for the tram are sold at the Relay shops in Halls A and B (and airside in the billi terminal), at the TBM machine outside at arrivals level and the machines by the stop, or in the TBM app; validate on the tram. The shuttle is sold online or on board, by card except Amex or in cash.

The taxi rank

The rank is at the outside exit of Hall A, from the first flight of the day to the last. There is no fixed fare — the meter runs — and the airport's own guide price is about EUR 35 by day and EUR 45 at night; you can pay by card whatever the amount.

Uber and Bolt

Uber and Bolt both pick up at Bordeaux airport. Neither names a fixed meeting point: request the ride once you have your bags and follow the app to the pickup spot, which may not be at the nearest exit. Uber lets you reserve the pickup ahead of landing.

At night

The terminals are closed to the public between midnight and 04:00, so nobody lands in that gap. After the last tram (00:56 Monday to Wednesday, 01:56 Thursday to Saturday, 01:21 Sunday) only the taxi rank at Hall A is left, on the meter's night rate.

Luggage

On the shuttle luggage is free: bags and rucksacks under the seat or in the racks, and folded pushchairs, bicycles, surfboards and other bulky items in the hold, labelled with your name and phone number. The tram has no racks; bags ride with you.

Which terminal

Three terminals: Hall A for most airlines, Hall B for Air France, the billi terminal for easyJet. The tram stop and the shuttle stop are at Hall B, the taxi rank at Hall A; since 16 September there is no way between Halls A and B indoors, so walk round outside.

It is line F, not line A: the airport branch changed letter on 6 December 2025, and line A no longer stops at the airport. Any tram leaving the airport stop is a line F tram to the centre.

Buy before you board. The machine at the stop takes cards and cash; the Relay shops in Halls A and B and the TBM app sell the same ticket. Nothing is sold on the tram and there is no tap-to-pay, so a party arriving late at night should have tickets in hand.

Two people share one EUR 3.40 ticket, validated twice, and ten rides cost EUR 15.70 for any group — eight people pay EUR 13.60 with four 2-ride tickets, EUR 1.70 a head.

For Gare Saint-Jean stay on past Hôtel de Ville: 45 to 50 minutes in all. The last tram that goes through to the station leaves the airport at 23:43 Monday to Wednesday, 00:44 Thursday to Saturday and 00:09 Sunday; later ones end at Porte de Bourgogne, on the river side of the old town.

The airport's own page gives the tram until midnight on weekdays and 01:00 on Thursday to Saturday; the operator's timetable runs about an hour later. If your flight lands after 00:30, do not count on it — the terminals close at midnight anyway.

Every 10 minutes by day Monday to Saturday (every 15 until early afternoon on Saturday), every 15 to 20 on Sundays after 10:00, every 20 after about 21:00. EUR 9 as an e-ticket, EUR 10 on board; EUR 8 online for ages 5 to 26, seniors, families and groups of six or more booked together, a quote from ten. A return bought online is EUR 16.20 (EUR 14.40 reduced); under-fives ride free. On board: cards except Amex, or cash with notes up to EUR 50. No refunds, but a ticket is valid on any departure that day and can be moved to another day 24 hours ahead.

The tram reaches the same station for EUR 1.90 in 45 to 50 minutes. The shuttle buys about fifteen minutes, a guaranteed seat and a hold for the luggage, for EUR 9 or 10.

Nothing before 07:30 or after 20:05 on weekdays, 08:40 to 19:05 on Saturday, 08:40 to 20:05 on Sunday. A flight landing at 21:00 has no shuttle; take the tram or a taxi.

Buy online for EUR 9 rather than EUR 10 on board, and EUR 16.20 for a return. The reduced EUR 8 fare — under-27s, seniors, families, groups of six — is sold online only, on proof.

Departures are fixed times, not a frequency, and the operator warns that the 30 minutes can stretch in traffic: allow at least 1h30 for a train connection at Saint-Jean.

A missed departure is not lost: the ticket is valid on any later departure that day, subject to seats.

Fixed departures, not a headway: 22 a day Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 20:05, every 30 to 50 minutes; 14 on Saturday from 08:40 to 19:05 and 15 on Sunday from 08:40 to 20:05, every 40 to 60 minutes. Public holidays run as the weekday they fall on. These times hold until 1 November.

It goes only to Gare Saint-Jean, the main railway station on the south side of the centre, and stops nowhere else. From the station forecourt a line F tram reaches Hôtel de Ville in about ten minutes on a EUR 1.90 ticket.

Worth knowing

The tram to the city is line F, not the line A the guides describe: since 6 December 2025 the airport stop is the end of line F, which runs through Mérignac to Hôtel de Ville in the old town in 35 to 38 minutes and on to Gare Saint-Jean in 45 to 50. Line A no longer comes to the airport.

One ticket is EUR 1.90 and covers an hour of travel with any changes. Two rides on one ticket cost EUR 3.40 and ten cost EUR 15.70, and both can be shared by people travelling together, so a pair pays EUR 3.40 and eight people EUR 13.60. Buy before you board: at the machine beside the stop (cards and cash), at the Relay shops in the terminals, or in the TBM app; there is no tap-to-pay on the tram.

The 30'Direct shuttle goes only to Gare Saint-Jean: EUR 10 on board, EUR 9 as an e-ticket, EUR 8 for ages 5 to 26, seniors and groups of six booked online. It is non-stop and takes 30 to 35 minutes, against 45 to 50 on the tram for EUR 1.90 to the same station. Its first departure from the airport is 07:30 (08:40 at weekends) and its last 20:05 (19:05 on Saturday).

No taxi fare is fixed anywhere in the Gironde; every taxi must display that. The meter starts at EUR 2.83 and charges EUR 1.08 to 3.24 a kilometre by tariff letter, EUR 8 minimum, EUR 4 per passenger from the fifth and EUR 2 per bag from the fourth; cards are taken for any amount. The airport's own guide price is about EUR 35 by day and EUR 45 at night.

Nothing flips with party size here: no fixed per-car fare exists, and the tram gets cheaper as the party grows. Eight people pay EUR 13.60 on the tram, EUR 64 on the shuttle even at its group rate, and a meter in a taxi that seats four (five to eight with a supplement, in a larger car).

The last tram leaves the airport at 00:56 Monday to Wednesday, 01:56 Thursday to Saturday and 01:21 on Sunday, the first at 04:49 (05:07 Sunday). Nothing else runs at night: no night bus serves the airport and the shuttle finishes at 20:05. The terminals themselves are closed to the public from midnight to 04:00, so a late arrival means a taxi at the night rate.

Buses 33 and 39 also leave from Hall B, door 7, but they connect with trams A and B at Mérignac and Pessac rather than going into town, and neither runs on Sundays. For the centre, the tram is faster and the same price.
