An eSIM for Slovakia, installed before you fly, works in the arrivals hall: tickets, maps, the driver's messages.
A flight three or more hours late, or cancelled at short notice, can be owed up to €600 a passenger under EU and UK rules, depending on the flight. AirHelp charges only if the claim succeeds.

Bus 61 stops on the approach road in front of the departures terminal. The coach zone for Slovak Lines, FlixBus and the other lines is also right in front of the building.
Tickets
Buy a DPB ticket through the app, a machine, the driver, or by tapping a bank card, phone or watch on board. If you bought it in advance, validate it the moment you board, not after.
The taxi rank
Both contracted taxi firms wait outside the arrivals terminal, and prices are posted on info panels there rather than quoted in advance. Pay by cash or card — Mastercard, Visa or American Express all work.
Uber and Bolt
Bolt is the airport's contracted taxi partner: order through the app, or use the kiosk in the arrivals hall if you don't have it installed. Bolt cars wait in marked bays in car park P1, three of them right outside arrivals.

Buy the 60-MINUTE ticket, not the 30. The bus is timetabled at 27 minutes on most weekday runs, the ticket must be valid when you board, and the Old Town is another ride beyond the station. EUR 1.80 removes the whole problem.
A checked bag needs its own EUR 0.60 ticket. The free allowance is smaller than most cabin luggage.
From three people with luggage, the Slovak Lines shuttle to Nivy is cheaper — EUR 1.35 a head with bags included.

Worth knowing
This is Bratislava's airport, 9 km from the city. Vienna is 80 km away, across the border; the coach there exists because many passengers commute to work in Vienna, not because this is a Vienna airport.
The airport advertises "from EUR 7.90" to Vienna, but that is the fare from Nivy bus station in the city; expect at least EUR 8.90 from the airport itself.
The city bus is EUR 1.20, but free luggage is limited to 60 x 45 x 25 cm — smaller than a checked bag — so a suitcase needs a EUR 0.60 ticket on top. The shuttle to the bus station is EUR 1.90 with two hold bags free, or EUR 1.35 a head from three people. With bags, the bus is cheaper for one or two travelers, the shuttle from three; without bags, the bus wins outright.
The 30-minute ticket is tight: the bus takes 27 minutes on 88 of its 142 weekday runs, must be valid before you board, and the fine is EUR 99. An SMS ticket costs the same EUR 1.20 and lasts 40 minutes, but only a Slovak mobile number can buy it. Past Hlavna stanica into the Old Town, buy the 60-minute ticket at EUR 1.80 instead.
Night bus N61 runs hourly, every night, on the ordinary EUR 1.20 fare — the longest gap in the whole day here is 53 minutes. The gap is toward Vienna: from 19 September 2026, the last coach from Vienna leaves at 19:15, more than nine hours before the next.
A Bratislava taxi can legally carry up to eight passengers (nine seats including the driver), but there is no set fare — Bratislava has no taxi tariff, only a rule that the price must be disclosed. Prices are posted on information panels outside arrivals: read the panel before you get in.
Slovak Lines' timetable changes on 19 September 2026. Frequencies here are from the timetable in force before that date; check the operator for the current one.
