P train via TikkurilaorP train and tram 5?

The short answer

P train via Tikkurila: 04:52–01:22. P train and tram 5: 05:36–22:53.

You need an ABC ticket. The AB ticket that covers Helsinki does not reach the airport, which is in zone C, and there is no single-zone ticket to add.

Buy it on the HSL app for EUR 4.50. The ticket machine on the platform and the contactless reader both charge EUR 4.80 for the same ticket.

This is the faster of the two trains from the airport: 29 minutes against the I train's 34. HSL's visitor page quotes the I at 27 minutes, but that is the time from the city to the airport.

The last train is 01:22 on most nights and the first 04:52; between them bus 600 runs from in front of the terminal on the same ticket.

Have the ticket on your phone before you board. HSL's penalty fare is EUR 100 plus a single.

The last tram is well before midnight, about 22:53 — hours before the last train. Landing late for Katajanokka means a taxi for the last leg, not this option.

The I train works as well as the P for this leg, just five minutes slower to Helsinki Central.

No extra fare: the ABC ticket already bought for the train covers the tram, inside its 90-minute validity.
