Both the metro (L9 Sud) and the Rodalies train have their own station on floor 0, the arrivals level. The metro stops at each terminal; the train's platform is under Terminal 2 only.
Finding the stop
Aerobús A1 and bus 46 stop at Terminal 1, arrivals level 0. Aerobús A2 and bus 46 stop along Terminal 2's internal road, serving T2A, T2B and T2C.
Tickets
The metro's Airport ticket is bought through the TMB app, online, or loaded onto a personalised or anonymous card. The Aerobús works differently: pay at the stop's machine, its own app, or the driver in cash, with change given only up to EUR 20.
The taxi rank
The rank is opposite arrivals: at Terminal 1 and at T2A, T2B and T2C, all on the ground floor. Aena warns that the only official taxi in Barcelona is black and yellow.
Uber and Bolt
Uber and Bolt both operate at Barcelona airport. Neither publishes one fixed meeting point: look for the rideshare pickup signs at each terminal, then follow the exact spot the app shows once you request a ride.
Which terminal
From Terminal 1, reaching the train means Aena's free shuttle to Terminal 2 first — about 10 minutes, every 5 to 10 minutes, day and night. The metro, Aerobús and bus 46 already have their own stop at both terminals.

A1 and A2 are not interchangeable. The A1 serves Terminal 1 and the A2 Terminal 2; both end at Plaça de Catalunya. Check which terminal you are at before boarding to go back.

The Airport ticket, EUR 5.90, is the only single valid at Aeroport T1/T2 — one person, and it covers any change to L3, L5 or L1 but not a bus afterward. The ordinary EUR 2.90 single, T-casual, T-familiar and T-grup are all refused here. The T-dia (EUR 12.00, 24 hours) and the Hola Barcelona Travel Card do work.
Your T-casual does not work here, nor does a T-familiar, T-grup or the EUR 2.90 single. Buy the EUR 5.90 Airport ticket at the gate instead. The train at Terminal 2 takes the card you already hold.
It does not go to the center. The line ends at Zona Universitària: change to L3 there for Catalunya and Passeig de Gràcia, to L5 at Collblanc for Diagonal and Sagrada Família, or to L1 at Torrassa. The change is included in the Airport ticket.
TMB's own page gives two figures for the ride, "only 30 minutes" and "32 minutes"; either way it is longer than the train to Sants, at more than twice the per-head cost of a T-familiar.
Every 7 minutes, serving both terminals directly — the one thing it does that the train does not.
The T-dia at EUR 12.00 includes one ride each way through the airport gates and unlimited travel for 24 hours, which beats two Airport tickets for anyone staying a day.

They work as normal fares on the R2 Nord train from Terminal 2 and bus 46 from both terminals, in fare zone 1 with Barcelona.
The shareable T-familiar (8 rides, EUR 11.50) and T-grup (70 rides, EUR 91.00) are not valid at the airport metro either. A group of up to eight can ride the R2 Nord train on one T-familiar; the same group pays EUR 5.90 each on the L9 Sud metro. The T-dia (EUR 12.00, 24 hours, one journey each way) and the Hola Barcelona Travel Card do cover the airport metro, but only for one person.
The metro (L9 Sud) ends at Zona Universitària, not the center: change to L3 for Plaça de Catalunya, or L5 at Collblanc or L1 at Torrassa, on the same ticket. The train (R2 Nord) only serves Terminal 2; from Terminal 1, take Aena’s free shuttle (10 minutes, every 5–10 minutes, around the clock).
