On arrival at Budapest Airport

From the arrivals hall to each way in
Finding the stop

The 100E and 200E buses both stop on the arrivals level, on the road between the airport's two terminals — so you are not searching for a particular building.

Tickets

Buy the airport bus ticket in the BudapestGO app, or tap a bank card on board through the Pay&GO reader. A paper ticket is validated by the stop's passenger coordinator or on the bus; a digital one is validated by QR or NFC in the app before you travel.

The taxi rank

The rank is at booking stands by the entrances of Terminal 2A and 2B — book there and the queued taxi is called forward. The airport itself warns that non-contracted taxis touting inside the terminal building can be risky, since they are not bound by the regulated fare.

Uber and Bolt

Uber books from both terminals, but pickup is simplest at 2A: order in the app, get a 6-digit PIN, and give it to the driver at the marked pickup point outside. The six-seat XL picks up at Terminal 2B instead.

A 30-minute ticket at 600 Ft covers the whole journey: the last transfer must happen within 30 minutes of validation, and the change to the metro comes at about 20. The 90-minute ticket is 850 Ft for extra margin; a single ride on the 200E alone is 500 Ft.

It ends where the expensive bus ends, at Deak Ferenc ter, for about a quarter of the price and about nine minutes more.

Do not buy the airport ticket for this bus. The 2,500 Ft airport ticket is expressly not valid on the 200E — you need an ordinary ticket.

You change from the bus to metro M3 at Kobanya-Kispest, which is the end of the bus leg and signposted.

At night the route changes but the fare does not: after the metro stops, the 200E runs on to Hatar ut, where night buses leave for the centre roughly every ten minutes. Allow about 50 minutes.

Both the 30-minute and 90-minute tickets allow unlimited transfers within their window.

You are paying 1,900 Ft more than the 200E for about nine minutes, and both end at the same square.

Nothing you already hold will work on it. Not a day ticket, not a travelcard, not an ordinary Budapest Card — only the more expensive PLUS version of that card includes this bus.

It makes four stops in total: the airport, Kalvin ter, Astoria and Deak Ferenc ter. For anywhere else you will be changing regardless.

It does run around the clock, about every ten minutes — but so does the 200E.

If you hold a monthly Budapest pass, the add-on is 1,000 Ft rather than the full 2,500 Ft.

The 2,500 Ft airport single for the 100E, plus an ordinary 500 Ft single for the M4: 3,000 Ft. The airport ticket buys one ride with no transfer, so the M4 leg needs a ticket of its own rather than a combined fare.

Buy two tickets: the 2,500 Ft airport single for the 100E, then a separate 500 Ft single for the M4 at Kalvin ter. The airport ticket does not cover a transfer.

Kalvin ter to Keleti palyaudvar is three stops on the M4 — Rakoczi ter, II. Janos Pal papa ter, then Keleti — about four minutes.

The M4 stops overnight, roughly 00:56 to 04:36. The 100E keeps running to Kalvin ter regardless, but nothing continues to Keleti in that window.

For Deak Ferenc ter itself, stay on the 100E to its own terminus rather than changing at Kalvin ter.

The 100E runs around the clock, but the M4 does not: about 04:36 to 00:56. Outside those hours the 100E still reaches Kalvin ter, but no metro meets it there.

The same forecourt as the airport bus, outside Terminal 2. Follow the signs from arrivals. It leaves you at Deak Ferenc ter, the 100E's own terminus.

Does the Bus 100E and metro M4 go to Deak Ferenc ter, where three metro lines meet?

This chain ends at Keleti palyaudvar, Budapest's other mainline station, not Deak Ferenc ter. For Deak Ferenc ter, ride the 100E through to its own terminus, or take the cheaper 200E and M3.

Worth knowing

Bus 100E accepts only the 2,500 Ft airport single, or a 1,000 Ft add-on with an existing monthly pass. Every other ticket, pass, travelcard and concession is void, including free travel for on-duty police, firefighters and ambulance crews.

And the airport ticket is void on the ordinary bus. The 2,500 Ft ticket does not work on the 200E, so buying the expensive one does not even buy you a fallback. Getting this wrong in either direction means you are travelling without a valid ticket.

Bus 200E and metro M3 reach Deak Ferenc ter, the 100E's own terminus, for 600 Ft on a 30-minute ticket — 1,900 Ft less than the 100E, for about nine extra minutes.

A 30-minute ticket covers the whole 41-minute journey: the rule is that your last transfer must happen within 30 minutes of validating, and the change to the metro comes at about 20. The 90-minute ticket is 850 Ft if you would rather not cut it close.

The ordinary Budapest Card is not valid on the 100E; only the pricier PLUS version covers it. The 24, 48 and 72-hour cards are valid on the trains from Ferihegy station to Nyugati.

Both the 100E and 200E run 24 hours, with no night gap. At night the 200E extends to Hatar ut, where night buses leave for the centre about every ten minutes; a 03:00 arrival is about 50 minutes from Deak Ferenc ter on an ordinary ticket.

The taxi runs on a meter, not a fixed price. From 1 August 2026 the base fare to or from the airport is 2,100 Ft, plus 520 Ft per kilometre and 130 Ft per minute; no other charge is permitted. No total can be given here, and it never gets cheaper for a larger group.

The airport prices its commercial partners and not its buses. Its own pages quote the taxi, Uber and the private minibus service to the forint, and give no price at all for either the 100E or the 200E.

The 100E makes four stops and no others: the airport, Kalvin ter, Astoria and Deak Ferenc ter. If you are going anywhere else, you are changing anyway, and the cheap route's change is no worse.
