Buy a DOT three-zone single, kr. 30 — not the four-zone one at kr. 40, which the machine will also sell you. Two children under 12 travel free with a ticketed adult; under-16s pay about half. A City Pass Small, kr. 100 for 24 hours, beats singles from the fourth ride. Metroselskabet says M2 riders pay for at most three zones, so the kr. 30 three-zone single is the most this ride can cost: buy that, not the four-zone one.

Take the M2 from the end of Terminal 3 and get off at Christianshavn, 11 or 12 minutes later and the stop before Kongens Nytorv, every 2 to 3 minutes by day and all night. It is the same kr. 30 DOT ticket as the ride to the centre; Christianshavn is also on the M1, which does not run to the airport.

Your destination

Straight there.

Is Christianshavn in central Copenhagen? Yes: the canal district across the harbour from the old centre, built by Christian IV about 400 years ago and home to Christiania. It is the M2 stop before Kongens Nytorv, so the metro reaches it a couple of minutes sooner, with no change.
