Dublin ExpressorCitylink 761?

The short answer

These do not go to the same place, so price is not the comparison. The Dublin Express reaches the north quays, around O'Connell Street and Lower Abbey Street; the Citylink 761 does not. Galway is a separate city on the west coast, not part of central Dublin.

The Dublin Express is quicker: 56 min against 3 h. The Citylink 761 varies between 170 and 180 minutes.

Dublin Express: 03:05–00:35. Citylink 761: hours not recorded.

The advertised "as little as 14 minutes" is not in its own timetable, which gives 23 minutes at the quickest to George's Quay, the first city stop. The coach loops west to Heuston before Custom House Quay: 50 minutes overnight, up to 87 on weekday mornings.

It does not run between 00:35 and 03:05. If you are landing in the small hours this is not an option, however fast it is by day.

It reaches Heuston Station directly, which no other service here does, so it is the one to take for an onward intercity train.
