Slower than the S11 for the same fare: seven minutes of SkyTrain, a wait, then a five- to twelve-minute train. It is the way in when you are going on beyond Düsseldorf, or when the S11 is not running.

Buy the ticket before the SkyTrain and keep it: a Preisstufe A single, a Deutschlandticket or a Rail&Fly ticket is valid on the SkyTrain, and otherwise you tap a bank card at its entrance and again on leaving.

The night trains at Düsseldorf Flughafen station (01:34, 01:57, 03:33; 02:33 at weekends) cannot be reached by SkyTrain, which stops from 00:45 to 03:45. Until 25 October 2026 a shuttle bus runs 02:15 to 03:30; after that, a taxi.

Until 30 October 2026 works around Duisburg and Essen divert or cancel some of these regional trains; check the departure boards at the SkyTrain station before you ride out.
