Worth knowing
72 direct trains on a weekday: four an hour from 06:00 to 20:00 at about :14 (IR95), :25 (IC1), :45 (IR15) and :55 (IR90), then the RE33 stopping train at :30 and :00 from 21:29, the last at 00:19 arriving 01:21. Friday and Saturday nights the last train is 01:00; Saturday and Sunday mornings the first is 05:14, and an hourly RE33 replaces the IR15 at weekends.
A CFF ticket is not for one train: it is good for any train on the route until 05:00 the next morning, and you may break the journey. The IC1, IR15, IR90 and IR95 take about 50 minutes; the RE33, the stopping train, about an hour.
The airport's CHF 10 train discount code does not apply: its list of eligible stations has no station in Vaud, or in Geneva.
Children aged 6 to 15 pay CHF 14.50; under-6s ride free. A parent with a CHF 30 Junior card takes their own children for nothing.
The ticket ends at Lausanne station. The metro and buses from there are on Lausanne's own mobilis fare network, sold separately.
The last trains are 00:19 on weeknights and 01:00 on Friday and Saturday nights; nothing runs to Lausanne between then and 04:58 (05:14 at weekends).
Nyon, 22 to 27 minutes from the same platforms on the trains that stop there — the IR95 and IR15 on weekdays, 48 a day — is on the same distance tariff; its fare is not listed here — ask the machine.
