The ordinary Hamburg AB single is EUR 4.10 (child 6–14, EUR 1.50; under 6 free) — no airport supplement. The Tagesticket Gruppe covers up to five people of any age for EUR 16.40, valid until 06:00 the next morning, no time restriction. All are 7% cheaper in the hvv app: EUR 3.81, EUR 1.40 and EUR 15.25, where four singles beat the group ticket by one cent.

Luggage. A commuter train with standing room by the doors; busy at rush hour.

Hours. The first train is 04:32 daily, the last 00:12 (00:37 at the Hauptbahnhof); Friday and Saturday there is one more at 00:32. On those two nights the S1 runs all night from Poppenbüttel, but nothing leaves the airport itself before 04:32. It runs every 10 minutes from about 07:00 to 23:00, every 20 minutes otherwise.

Luggage. A city bus for seven minutes, then the S-Bahn.

Hours. Friday and Saturday nights only. From the airport at 01:24, 02:04, 02:44, 03:20, 03:43 and 04:06, seven minutes to U S Ohlsdorf, where the all-night S1 (every 20 minutes) continues to the Hauptbahnhof, 18 minutes more. Runs 16 March to 30 November 2026.

What if my flight arrives late?

Not everything runs around the clock: the S-Bahn S1 runs 04:32–00:12, and the Night bus 606 runs 00:04–03:34, Sunday to Thursday nights, and the Bus 274 to Ohlsdorf and the night S1 runs 01:24–04:06, Friday and Saturday nights. Those night services run on some nights only, so check the day you land; on the others nothing runs to the center in those hours.
