An eSIM for Türkiye, installed before you fly, works in the arrivals hall: tickets, maps, the driver's messages.
A flight three or more hours late, or cancelled at short notice, can be owed up to €600 a passenger under EU and UK rules, depending on the flight. AirHelp charges only if the claim succeeds.

Arriving late?
Not everything runs around the clock: the M4 metro to Kadıköy runs 06:00–23:59, and the Havabüs coach to Kadıköy runs 05:45–01:30, and the Havabüs coach to Taksim runs 06:30–00:30, and the İETT bus E-10 to Kadıköy (night only) runs 00:15–03:30, every night but Friday to Saturday. That night service runs on some nights only, so check the day you land; on the others nothing runs to the center in those hours. Set the hour you leave arrivals and the board keeps only what is running.
Luggage
One large suitcase, up to 30 kg and 120 x 60 x 50 cm, plus a cabin bag or small backpack, free. A second suitcase costs one more fare. Ordinary metro cars without racks.
Going somewhere specific?
"The center" is not one place, and the answer changes
The Havaist coach to Istanbul Airport leaves from opposite the arrivals-level exit, next to Simit Sarayı. Havabüs and the İETT buses leave from the road outside the terminal; check the destination board on the coach, since Havabüs runs to Taksim, Kadıköy and Yenisahra from the same place.
Tickets
Use an İstanbulkart at the metro gate, not a bank card: an anonymous card pays TRY 46.20 a ride, and a contactless card, a phone or a single-use ticket pays TRY 65. The single-use tickets are sold as one, two or three rides (TRY 65, 120, 185).
The taxi rank
Taxis run on İBB's meter: TRY 71.94 flag-fall, TRY 47.92 a kilometre, TRY 230 minimum for any ride. Yellow is the standard class; turquoise (eight seats) and black cost more per kilometre. There is no fixed fare to the city from this airport.
Uber and Bolt
Uber works here through its taxi products — yellow, large and black taxis. The app assigns the pickup point, which may not be the nearest exit; follow its directions rather than the first taxi you see. Bolt does not list this airport.
Luggage
On the metro one large suitcase (up to 30 kg and 120 x 60 x 50 cm) plus a cabin bag or small backpack rides free. Each further suitcase costs one more fare, and anything heavier or larger is not allowed on board.

Fifty-two minutes end to end: the airport is the last stop and Kadıköy the first, so every ride is the whole line, with 21 stops between.
Sunday to Thursday the last train is 23:59. Land later and it is the E-10 bus (00:15, 01:05, 02:25, 03:30), a Havabüs coach to 01:30, or a meter taxi. Friday and Saturday nights the metro runs through instead, every 30 minutes at double fare.
It does not cross to Europe. For Taksim change at Ayrılık Çeşmesi to the Marmaray, then to the M2 — three trains — or take the Havabüs coach direct.
Six and a half times cheaper than the Havabüs coach to the same square, and no slower.

The M4 metro goes to the same square for TRY 46.20 in 52 minutes. The coach costs six and a half times as much and, by İETT's figure of 87 minutes, is slower; by the operator's 60 minutes it is about the same.
It buys a seat, a hold and a service that runs to 01:30 every night, two hours after the last metro on Sunday to Thursday nights.
The 60 minutes is the operator's own estimate and it says traffic decides the rest; İETT puts the run at 87.
Yenisahra, on the way, is an M4 station: get off there for the eastern districts rather than riding into Kadıköy.

The night fare is an open question: the tariff doubles bus fares between 00:30 and 05:30 unless a decision says otherwise, and none is published for this line. Budget for TRY 184.80 on the 01:05, 02:25 and 03:30 departures.
