The card is reusable for a year, so a second ride is EUR 2.30; ten loaded at once earn an eleventh free. A Z4 is valid 1h15 from first validation across the metro, STCP buses and suburban trains. Children under four travel free; there is no child single. A 24-hour Z4 is EUR 8.55, but the tourist Andante Tour 1 at EUR 7.75 covers the whole network for 24 hours and beats it.

Buy the Andante Azul card from a machine in the metro station, or skip it and pay the STCP driver instead on the bus — cash, MB WAY or a contactless card all work there. Validate whichever ticket you carry at the platform reader or the bus doorway every time you travel; a card carries one traveler at a time.

Buy a Z4. The airport is zone VCD8 and every central station is four zones away; a Z3 reaches only Senhora da Hora. The operator's own zone counter will tell you Z4 and quote EUR 2.25, which is the 2023 price; the tariff is EUR 2.30.
One card per person. The Andante Azul is EUR 0.60, cannot carry two people through on one journey, and is the only thing the validator accepts — no paper ticket, no bank card. Keep it: it is reloadable for a year.
Validate at the platform validator before boarding. There are no gates, and an unvalidated card is a fine. Take the card out of your wallet: the validator can read the wrong card.
Check the destination. 25 of the 66 weekday trains from the airport end at Trindade; only those signed Estádio do Dragão continue to Bolhão, Campanhã and the Dragão.
The last train is 00:42. After it, the 3M bus leaves the airport at 01:30 and hourly until 03:30, then half-hourly to 05:30.
Works on the new Rosa line have closed the central section between Campo 24 de Agosto and Senhora da Hora on some weekend nights, most recently 22:00 Saturday 12 to 12:00 Sunday 13 September 2026, with STCP buses standing in. Check the operator's news page before a weekend arrival.

The timetable itself gives 33 to 55 minutes to Cordoaria depending on the hour; the long runs are the weekday peaks. It reaches Boavista and Casa da Música at about 30 minutes.

The last bus to Cordoaria leaves at 00:20. The 01:10 goes only as far as Rotunda AEP.

Worth knowing
Every traveler needs a card: the Andante system has no paper single and takes no bank card at the validator. A four-zone ride is EUR 2.30, loaded on an Andante Azul card that costs EUR 0.60, one card per person. Arriving with nothing, a party of four pays EUR 11.60 at the machine, not EUR 9.20. The card lasts a year, so the second ride is EUR 2.30. Android phones can validate through the ANDA app instead; iPhones cannot.
STCP drivers sell a EUR 2.50 ticket — cash, MB WAY or contactless — valid for that bus only. For one ride, arriving with nothing, that is 40 cents less than card plus Z4, and it is the only way to board here without buying the card: the metro sells nothing on board. From the second ride the card wins. Do not buy the EUR 8.55 Andante 24 for four zones: the tourist Andante Tour 1 is EUR 7.75 on its own card and covers the whole network, cheaper before the EUR 0.60 is even counted. It pays off at four rides in 24 hours; at three, singles still win by 25 cents. The airport's Andante desk sells top-ups only, so buy the Tour at a shop such as Trindade (Monday to Friday 09:00 to 18:00, Saturday 09:00 to 13:00).
It is four zones (Z4), not two: the airport is zone VCD8, and Trindade, Bolhão, São Bento, Aliados, Campanhã and Casa da Música are all Z4; only Senhora da Hora is Z3. A Z2 bought because the map looks short leaves you without a valid ticket. The operator's own fare calculator still quotes EUR 2.25 for a Z4; every other source says EUR 2.30 — expect EUR 2.30.
The last metro leaves the airport at 00:42 every day, reaching Trindade at 01:09; the first is 06:06 Monday to Friday, 05:58 on Saturday and 05:57 on Sunday. STCP's night bus 3M leaves the airport at 00:30, 01:30, 02:30, 03:30, 04:00, 04:30, 05:00 and 05:30 every night, 26 minutes to Trindade and 28 to Aliados, at the same EUR 2.50 to the driver or a Z4 on a card. Bus 601 starts at 05:30. The longest wait at the stop is about 48 minutes, after the last metro.
No fixed taxi fare exists here, only a meter, and the meter is changing. A new national reference tariff — EUR 2.00 flagfall, EUR 0.73 per kilometre, EUR 0.34 per minute on a weekday by day, higher at night and weekends, double for a taxi seating more than four, plus a EUR 0.80 booking supplement — applies from 18 August 2026, with meters to be re-programmed within 70 days; so in autumn 2026 a Porto taxi may run either tariff. Taxis take four, larger cars by phone, with extra for a bag over 55 by 35 by 20 cm.
The airport's own page is out of date: it says line E runs every 20 or 30 minutes, but trains run every 12 to 18 minutes by day. It also lists services that no longer exist or don't serve the center: a Goin'Porto shuttle, a Transdev shuttle, and a getBUS route to Campanhã. STCP's 602 also reaches Cordoaria from the airport at the same fare, but takes 45 to 80 minutes and finishes at 20:50, and the 604 goes to Hospital São João, not the center.
