For Porto generally we recommend the Bus 601. For Trindade the answer changes.

Every line E train reaches Trindade, 27 minutes from the airport; 25 of the 66 weekday trains end there. Change here to line D for São Bento (one stop) and Vila Nova de Gaia. Aliados and the Câmara are a few minutes' walk downhill; the Andante shop in the station sells the Tour 1 and top-ups on weekdays and Saturday mornings. At night the 3M stops here at 26 minutes, just before its Aliados terminus.

What one person pays arriving with nothing: a Z4 single at EUR 2.30 plus the EUR 0.60 Andante Azul card it must be loaded on, one card per person, both sold by the machines in the station. The card is reusable for a year, so a second ride is EUR 2.30; ten loaded at once earn an eleventh free. A Z4 is valid 1h15 from first validation across the metro, STCP buses and suburban trains. Children under four travel free; there is no child single. A 24-hour Z4 is EUR 8.55, but the tourist Andante Tour 1 at EUR 7.75 covers the whole network for 24 hours and beats it.

Luggage. Level boarding, no stated limit. Bicycles by the rear door.

Hours. Monday to Friday; first train is 05:58 on Saturday, 05:57 on Sunday and holidays. Last train is 00:42 every day, reaching Trindade at 01:09. After 23:00 the interval widens to 30 to 42 minutes (22:57, 23:27, 00:09, 00:42).

Luggage. An ordinary city bus with no racks.

Hours. Every night of the week: 00:30, 01:30, 02:30, 03:30, 04:00, 04:30, 05:00 and 05:30 from the airport. STCP's page says 00:30 to 05:30 hourly; its airport map says 00:30 to 06:00.

No. It runs to Cordoaria.

What if my flight arrives late?

Not everything runs around the clock: the Metro line E runs 06:06–00:42, and the Night bus 3M runs 00:30–05:30. Outside those hours nothing runs to the center.
