These do not go to the same place, so price is not the comparison. The Leonardo Express reaches Roma Termini and the historic center; the FL1 regional train does not. This regional service never reaches Termini — it runs to Orte, Fara Sabina, Poggio Mirteto or Roma Ostiense instead. It is cheaper than the Leonardo Express, but only useful if you are staying near Trastevere, Ostiense or Tiburtina.
The FL1 regional train is quicker: 28 min against 32 min.
Trastevere, Ostiense and Tiburtina — it does NOT stop at Termini

Does not serve Termini, despite Trenitalia’s summary page listing Termini among the stations the line “will take you to”. The station departure board shows otherwise; you would be changing trains to get there.
