On arrival at Vienna Airport

From the arrivals hall to each way in
Finding the station

The REX7 and S7 leave from platform 3A, two levels down from the arrivals hall by lift, escalator or stairs — the same underground concourse holds platforms 1, 2, 3 and 3A for every train here.

Finding the stop

The coach stop is at Terminal 3, level 0, in the bus terminal — about a five-minute walk from baggage reclaim. It's signed as the City Airport Train stop even though the vehicle itself is currently a bus.

Tickets

Buy an ÖBB ticket at a counter or a machine — the station map shows both in the arrivals concourse, on the way down to the platforms. CAT keeps a separate ticket counter in the same building for its own, currently-a-bus, service.

The taxi rank

The taxi stand is directly in front of the arrivals hall — the airport's own site map shows exactly where. Use that stand or the City Transfer counter inside; anyone else offering you a ride there doesn't have the licence to do it.

Uber and Bolt

Uber picks up one level above arrivals, on the departures road at Terminal 3: take the escalator or lift up to Terminal 3 check-in, then walk over the bridge to the road outside. It's a genuine walk rather than a curbside pickup, so budget a few minutes.

From EUR 7.90, but a moving price behind it: a ticket bought a day or more ahead costs EUR 7.90 to 9.90, and the same day's remaining departures run EUR 8.90 to 13.90. The operator's price list separately advertises "from EUR 5.90" online and "from EUR 1.00" for a child under 16, but no departure at EUR 5.90 was found on sale — expect EUR 7.90 as the floor. The one fixed number is the price from the driver: EUR 15.00 flat for an adult, EUR 5.00 for a child. A ten-ride Travel Pass at EUR 65, EUR 6.50 a ride, is transferable and valid in either direction for 180 days, bought online with a registered account.

Pay the driver and it is EUR 15.00 flat. Online sales close ten minutes before departure — book on the app before you walk out to platform 04, not at the stand.

The price is a floor. The operator sells this ride at prices that move by date and departure: EUR 7.90 to 9.90 for a departure booked weeks ahead, EUR 8.90 to 13.90 on the day. Its price list's "from EUR 5.90" was on sale for no departure checked.

Two lines, two ends. Line 102806 goes to Most SNP and on to Nivy; line 102807 to the main railway station and on to Nivy. Both reach Nivy; check which end you want before you pick a departure.

Between 00:15 and 07:30 nothing of Slovak Lines' runs, and from 19 September 2026 the 06:30 is gone. RegioJet's first departure is 09:25; FlixBus advertises a 01:25 at a price nobody can state in advance.

Bring a passport or ID card. The operator requires a valid travel document on its international lines, children included, and under-16s may not travel unaccompanied.

Fourteen departures on line 102806 (07:30, 08:30, 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 14:30, 15:30, 17:30, 18:30, 20:30, 21:30, 22:50, 23:25 and 00:15) and seven on line 102807 (09:50, 11:50, 12:15, 13:20, 15:50, 17:05 and 19:55), daily, thinned on 24 to 26 and 31 December and 1 January. Between 00:15 and 07:30, nothing of Slovak Lines' leaves the airport for Bratislava.

Worth knowing

The City Airport Train is currently a bus. OeBB closed the Vienna Stammstrecke on 7 September 2026 for fourteen months, until 31 October 2027; for that whole period the CAT runs as a coach operated by Blaguss Reisen, at the unchanged EUR 14.90, with city check-in suspended.

The same closure moved the cheap train. The S7 no longer reaches Wien Mitte; it terminates at Wien St. Marx, a tram ride short of the middle. Until the line reopens the REX7 to Wien Hauptbahnhof is the sensible ordinary train, not the S7.

A Vienna city ticket does not reach the airport. And the fare does not add up the way you'd expect: airport to the edge of the core zone is EUR 2.30, a core-zone single is EUR 2.40, but the through ticket is EUR 5.50, not EUR 4.70.

The Vienna Airport Bus runs to five city terminals for EUR 11.00 single and EUR 20.00 return, with a family ticket at EUR 27.00 for two adults and two under-18s. It is not listed here because the operator does not publish a journey time from the airport, but it is cheaper than the CAT and slower than the trains.

No taxi fare can be stated. The Schwechat tariff applies only within the municipality of Schwechat, and Vienna's own tariff is a meter. The airport lists four operators and no prices; a company's advertised flat rate is not an authority tariff.

Bratislava is a coach from platform 04. Slovak Lines has a published price list and timetable: platform 04 in front of the departures hall to Most SNP, under the bridge by Bratislava's old town, in 50 minutes, and Nivy bus station in 55, 21 times a day, 07:30 to 00:15. Online it is EUR 7.90 to 9.90 booked a day or more ahead, up to 13.90 on the day, or a flat EUR 15.00 from the driver — book before you walk out to the stand. RegioJet and FlixBus run the same road at prices that change by the day. No train goes to Bratislava from here: OeBB's line ends at Wolfsthal, and the Bratislava REX leaves from Wien Hauptbahnhof.
