Boards at. Station beneath the terminal

An ordinary VOR single covering the airport and the Vienna core zone. The airport sits outside the core zone, so a Vienna city ticket will not do — and the two halves bought separately (EUR 2.30 plus EUR 2.40) come to less than the through fare and are not valid for it.

Luggage. A regional train, with racks at the carriage ends.

Hours. Departures at :16 and :46, first 04:46 and last 01:46. After that nothing leaves the airport until the S7 at 03:49 — a hard gap of nearly two hours. The night S-Bahn does not fill it: OeBB runs it from Schwechat, one stop short of the airport.

The REX7 is the one option here that actually reaches Hauptbahnhof, via Schwechat and Kaiserebersdorf, in 20 minutes for EUR 5.50. The S7 does not call here — it currently terminates at Wien St. Marx while the Stammstrecke is closed — and the City Airport Train goes only to Wien Mitte, not Hauptbahnhof, whether running as a train or, as now, as a coach. From Hauptbahnhof, direct trains run to Salzburg Hbf, Budapest-Keleti and Praha hl.n. — all zero-change, from the same station the REX7 leaves you at.
