Arriving late?
Not everything runs around the clock: the S9 train, then the S1 from Chorzów Batory runs 04:13–21:40, and the Matuszek coach to Katowice runs 07:15–23:30. Outside those hours, the Bus AP and the Pre-booked private transfer are what remain. Set the hour you leave arrivals and the board keeps only what is running.

Going somewhere specific?
"The center" is not one place, and the answer changes
The railway station, Pyrzowice Lotnisko, is about 500 m from the terminals along a paved footpath; it has a roof and step-free access. Its trains run to Tarnowskie Góry, Bytom and Chorzów — for Katowice you change at Chorzów Batory, or take bus AP from the forecourt instead.
Finding the stop
Bus AP leaves from stand 1 of the Pyrzowice Port Lotniczy stop on car park P1, in front of Terminal A. Matuszek's coach to Katowice and Kraków waits at stand 3 or 4 in front of Terminal C, about 10 m from the exit, marked Airport Bus Service / Matuszek; FlixBus uses stand 7 beside the AP stop.
Tickets
For the bus, tap a contactless bank card on the validator as you board and again as you leave — PLN 5.70 for this ride — or buy a 120-minute ticket in the Transport GZM app (PLN 6.60) or on paper from a machine or kiosk (PLN 7) and validate it on board. Nothing is sold by the driver.
The taxi rank
The official rank, Katowice Airport Taxi, is in front of the arrivals terminal, Terminal C. It is a meter — PLN 10 to start and PLN 6 a kilometre, the same rate day, night and Sunday — with no fixed price to Katowice, so ask for an estimate before you get in.
Uber and Bolt
Bolt picks up at Katowice Airport: request in the app and follow it to the pickup point it shows, which can change. Uber publishes no page for this airport.
Luggage
On Matuszek's coach one bag of up to 32 kg and 55 × 80 × 30 cm goes in the hold free, plus a 10 kg hand bag; each further piece is PLN 25 and rides only if there is room. On the bus and the train luggage is free and stays with you.
Which terminal
Every arrival comes through Terminal C; Terminal A is non-Schengen departures and Terminal B Schengen. The three stand in a row, and the bus stop on car park P1 and the taxi rank outside C are a short walk from any of them.

Buy the 120-minute ticket, not the 40-minute one: the ride is timed at 48 minutes to the station and 51 to Sądowa, and the ticket's validity is judged by the timetable.
The cheapest fare needs two taps: a bank card on the validator as you board and the same card as you leave, PLN 5.70. Without the second tap the system keeps PLN 6.60.
The driver sells nothing. Machines on the forecourt and in the terminals sell paper tickets; validate on boarding.
From Sądowa it runs back to the airport all night too: at :00 and :30 from 04:00 to 23:30, then hourly at :30.
