Going somewhere specific?
"The center" is not one place, and the answer changes
The station is directly behind the multi-storey car park, joined to the terminal by a covered footbridge, so the walk stays dry in any weather.
Finding the stop
The bus stop is right by the terminal building; live departure times for both buses show on a screen near the information desk in the main hall.
Tickets
Train tickets come from the on-board machine, the conductor, or the Koleje Małopolskie desk on the platform, open 08:10 to 19:45 — all take cash and card. Bus tickets are sold at a machine in the arrivals hall, at the stop, or on board by card only.
The taxi rank
The Kraków Airport Taxi rank is under cover, right next to the terminal, with cars waiting there around the clock. Every vehicle takes cards of any kind, so cash is not the only option.
Uber and Bolt
Uber and Bolt both operate at Kraków airport. Neither publishes a fixed pickup point: watch for the rideshare signs at the terminal, then follow the exact spot the app shows once you request a ride.

The joint 70-MINUTE ticket is not valid here. It covers the train at every station named Kraków "z wyłączeniem Kraków Lotnisko" — the airport is the one exclusion. Only the PLN 20 airport fare boards this train at this station.
The PLN 20 is an airport-only price. Every fare table in KMŁ's tariff says it does not apply to Kraków Lotnisko; the same distance elsewhere on the line is PLN 7.50.
Bus 300 from the forecourt is PLN 6 and, by the authority's stop coordinates, drops you nearer the Rynek than this train does. The train is the right answer for Kraków Główny itself and for anywhere on the line beyond it.
No train between 01:47 and 04:17. Night bus 902 covers those hours at 02:16, 03:16 and 03:51.
The last half-hourly train is 22:17; after that the intervals are 60, 50, 50 and 50 minutes.

It does not go to Kraków Główny. For the station take the train, or at night the 902; for the Old Town this bus is nearer than either.
The PLN 6 ticket lasts to the end of this bus's run however long it takes. If you change to a tram at Muzeum Narodowe, the 30 minutes will have nearly gone by then — buy the PLN 8 60-minute ticket instead.
A zone-I 24-hour ticket (PLN 20) is not valid on this ride; the airport is in zone II. The all-zones 24-hour ticket is PLN 25.
The route has been "temporarily" diverted via Al. Focha and Królowej Jadwigi since 2 September 2023, and ZTP's own line description still shows the old road through Przegorzały. The times here are the diverted route, which is the one that runs.
The scheduled 19 minutes is a timetable figure. The same road is used by the night bus, which is timed at 24 minutes to the same stop.
Bus 209 also passes the airport about twelve times a day on its way from Mników to Salwator, on the same ticket; Salwator is a tram terminus well short of the Old Town, so the 300 is the one to take.
The same timetable every day: 04:33, 05:00, 05:30, 05:45, then every 10 minutes from 06:00 to 23:10, and 23:42 — 109 departures.

Prices are fixed by distance band, unrelated to time or day: PLN 29 to 2.9 km, 49 to 4.9, 69 to 7.9, PLN 89 for 8 to 11.9 km, PLN 109 for 12 to 14.9, PLN 129 for 15 to 18.9, up to PLN 169 at 27 km. The airport says the center is 11 km away (PLN 89); the taxi company's own map puts the Rynek in the PLN 109 ring and the station in the PLN 129 ring — expect PLN 109 for the Old Town. The price is per car, seating up to seven in a van; extra passengers ride free. Cards accepted; waiting PLN 35 an hour; beyond 27 km, agree the price in advance at no more than PLN 8 a kilometer.
PLN 89 is the floor for the center, not necessarily the price. The band is decided by the meter's distance, and the operator's own map puts the Rynek in the PLN 109 band and the station in the PLN 129 band. Ask which band before you get in.
It never beats the bus: eight people in a van and a sedan pay from PLN 178 against PLN 48 on the 300. It does beat the train from five people, if the ride really is zone 4.
No authority states a taxi journey time. The 19 to 35 minutes here are the scheduled times of bus 300 and night bus 902 over the same roads, not a taxi figure.
A larger party should tell the driver 30 minutes ahead; the rules call a bigger group an atypical service. A van is not guaranteed at the rank without notice.
The city's meter ceiling (PLN 9 plus PLN 4 a kilometer by day) is a rule for licensed taxis inside Kraków's limits; the airport is outside them, in gmina Zabierzów, and this tariff is the airport company's own.
It is the only option that runs at every hour with no wait; the 902 is hourly in the dead of night.

On 24 September the three post-midnight trains run via Kraków Mydlniki and take 37 minutes.
Worth knowing
The train fare is a carve-out: PLN 20 from the airport to any station named Kraków — Kraków Główny in 17 minutes — rather than the ordinary PLN 7.50 for that distance. The PLN 10 joint 70-minute ticket, valid on the train at every other station named Kraków, excludes exactly one: Kraków Lotnisko.
Bus 300 costs PLN 6 and lands closer to the old town. It leaves the stop by the terminal every ten minutes from 06:00 to 23:10, reaching Muzeum Narodowe, at the western edge of the Old Town, in 19 minutes — 0.93 km from the Rynek Główny, nearer than Kraków Główny station at 1.04 km. The ticket is valid on the vehicle you validate it in until the end of that run, and costs the same across all three fare zones. The train costs more than three times as much, saves two minutes, and puts you on the far side of the Old Town.
The airport is in fare zone II, outside the city. Single and timed tickets do not care, but the 24-hour ticket does: PLN 20 for zone I only, PLN 25 for zones I, II and III. Buy the PLN 25 one for a day pass starting at the airport; the 7-day ticket splits the same way, PLN 65 and PLN 80.
The bus is PLN 6 a head, the cheapest option from one traveler to eight — PLN 48 against PLN 160 by train. A 20-person group ticket at PLN 60 only pays off from eleven people. The airport taxi is a fixed price per car — one passenger pays, others ride free — but which zone the center falls in is disputed, so its price here is a floor; even at that floor it never beats the bus, though it does beat the train from five people (five tickets PLN 100, one car from PLN 89).
Kraków Airport Taxi prices every ride by distance, in bands fixed regardless of hour or day: PLN 89 for 8 to 11.9 km, PLN 109 for 12 to 14.9, PLN 129 for 15 to 18.9. The airport says the center is 11 km away, the PLN 89 band; the taxi company's own map puts the Rynek in the PLN 109 ring and the railway station in the PLN 129 ring. Sedans and estates seat four; vans seat seven at the same price, with 30 minutes' notice for a larger group.
The last train leaves at 01:47, the first at 04:17. Night bus 902 fills the gap at 02:16, 03:16 and 03:51, reaching Dworzec Główny Wschód, beside the main station, in 35 minutes on the same PLN 6 ticket, passing Muzeum Narodowe at 24 minutes and Teatr Słowackiego on the edge of the Old Town at 32. It also runs at 23:21, 00:16, 01:16 and 04:51, every night. Bus 300 starts at 04:33.
