The tram stop, signed 'Findel – Luxembourg Airport', is at the eastern end of the terminal forecourt, a short walk past the bus quays and Parking P1. Trams for Hamilius and the Gare centrale leave every 8 minutes through the day.
Finding the stop
Buses leave from the same forecourt: quay 1 for bus 16 to Hamilius via Kirchberg, quay 3 for bus 29 to the Gare centrale. Bus 302 to Trier leaves from quay 5, up on the route de Trèves past Parking P1, over a pedestrian crossing.
Tickets
Every tram and bus into Luxembourg is free by law — walk on, no ticket, card or app needed, and nobody should ask you for one. The one paid ride is bus 302 to Trier: buy a EUR 3 RegioZone ticket before boarding, in the CFL go app or at a CFL desk, since the driver sells nothing.

Taxis wait at the front of the terminal around the clock; a pre-booked car picks up at Kiss & Fly Parking C instead. Luxembourg sets no regulated fare at all, so read the price list taped to the rear passenger window, including its indicative price for 10 km, before you get in.
Luggage
Bags, prams and bikes ride free on every tram and bus, under the same rule that makes the ride itself free. They just cannot take a seat of their own or block the aisle.

Hamilius is the upper town, the Gare Centrale is the station quarter: five tram minutes apart on the same line. Stay on past Hamilius for the station.
Twenty-six minutes to Hamilius is the scheduled time on every departure; the airport's 10 km is to the station, which is 31 to 32 minutes.
Last from the airport 00:06 every day, first 05:03 on weekdays and about 05:05 at weekends. Between those nothing public leaves Findel.
The stop is not at the terminal door: it is at the far end of the forecourt beyond the bus quays. Follow the signs for "Tram" or "T1".

EUR 3 is for the German stops. Inside Luxembourg — to Munsbach or Wasserbillig — the same bus is free, like everything else.

Quay 5 is not on the forecourt: it is up on the route de Trèves, a short walk north past Parking P1 with a pedestrian crossing. Allow five minutes from the terminal.
Toward the airport it starts from Trier Theodor-Heuss-Allee, eight runs from 05:15 to 09:15 on weekday mornings, 43 to 54 minutes to the airport's quay 6. The 301 and 303 to Trier that other guides name start at Kirchberg and do not stop at the airport.

Worth knowing
All public transport in Luxembourg is free by law, tram included, since 1 January 2026 (Luxembourg itself has been free since 2020). Walk onto the tram at Findel and off at Hamilius — no ticket, card or app needed. Only first class on a train is paid, and no airport service uses it.
The tram is the answer for the upper town and Kirchberg; bus 29 for the station. The tram runs every eight minutes: 16 minutes to the Philharmonie, 23 to Stäreplaz, 26 to Hamilius, 31 to the Gare centrale. Bus 16 reaches Hamilius in 22–29 minutes via Kirchberg; bus 29 reaches the Gare centrale in 18–23 minutes but skips the upper town. All three are free — choose by where you are staying.
Eight people ride the tram to the center for free, just as one does. Luxembourg publishes no taxi price, so a taxi buys door-to-door convenience and room for bags, never a saving.
Every taxi operator sets its own fare — no regulated price, not even a ceiling. It must be displayed on the rear passenger window, with an indicative price for a 10 km daytime ride; the meter must run and the driver cannot charge more than shown. Read the window before you get in, or take the free tram instead.
The last tram leaves at 00:06, the last bus 16 at 00:07, the last bus 29 at 23:49; the first tram is 05:03, the first bus 16 04:58, the first bus 29 04:42 on weekdays or 04:49 at weekends. Land between midnight and about 05:00 and free transport is closed — only a taxi is left, at whatever its window shows.
Bus 302 from quay 5 reaches Trier Christophstraße in 41–48 minutes: free to the border, then EUR 3.00 on a RegioZone two-hour ticket (children under 12 free). It runs Monday to Friday only, twelve times a day between 12:29 and 20:29; buy the ticket before boarding, in the CFL go app or from CFL — nothing is sold on the bus.
