A flat EUR 5.00 to or from any of its stops, set by the Comunidad de Madrid for 2026. It is the one city bus a season pass does NOT cover — the Abono Transporte is valid on everything "excepto en el Bus Expres Aeropuerto".

Luggage. A city bus with a luggage area; it fills up on a busy arrival.

EUR 1.50 Zona A single plus the EUR 3.00 airport supplement: EUR 4.50 from T1-T2-T3, EUR 4.70 from T4. One ticket, taken when you exit at Sol — Madrid Metro prices a ride by how many stations it covers in total, so changing lines twice costs no more than staying on one. A first ride also needs the EUR 2.50 Tarjeta Multi card.

Luggage. An ordinary metro carriage; no racks, no hold.

Hours. Daily, including public holidays — bounded by line 8's own hours, since it is the last of the three trains boarded on the way in.

How do I get from Madrid city centre to Madrid airport?

For one traveler the Expres Aeropuerto is the way we recommend: €5 in total, 30–40 min, boarding at Estación de Atocha. It runs at any hour.

First departures

Taxi

Metro to Sol

First 06:05 from Puerta del Sol, at the airport by about 06:29.

Arrival times add the recorded ride time to the first departure; no walking or waiting is added.

Early flight?

There is no early-morning gap: the Expres Aeropuerto and the fixed-fare taxi both run right through the night. A 06:00 flight means the slower, half-hourly night bus from Cibeles rather than the daytime one from Atocha.

Where the bus leaves from

The Expres Aeropuerto boards at the Estación de Atocha transport interchange by day; after 23:55 the stop moves to Cibeles instead, the same switch as the airport-bound side.

Tickets

Buy an ordinary Cercanías single for the C1 in town; no airport supplement applies boarding there. On the metro the EUR 3.00 airport supplement is charged when you exit at an airport station, not when you board, so a plain Zona A ticket bought in town is not enough on its own.

Taxis to the airport

The same EUR 33.00 fixed fare applies leaving the city as arriving: the ordinance sets it for a ride "with origin or destination at the airport and destination or origin inside the M-30", in either direction, 24 hours a day.
