Check the front of the bus: "Reykjavík-BSÍ" goes through, "Fjörður" stops in Hafnarfjörður. Only 06:27, 07:54, 14:54, 15:54 and 16:54 go through, and only on weekdays.

At the weekend no bus 55 reaches Reykjavík. Take one to Fjörður and change to city bus 1 — ISK 2,490 on two tickets, 84 minutes.
