Worth knowing

Every bus 55 stops at Fjörður: weekdays 06:27 to 22:54, Saturdays 06:54 to 22:54, Sundays 10:54 to 22:54, mostly every two hours. Bus 1 leaves Fjörður for the centre eight to eleven minutes after each one arrives, and runs until 00:21 (23:51 on Sundays).

The connection is timed — eight to eleven minutes at Fjörður on every trip — so the 84 minutes hold; the last 55 of the day (22:54) meets the 23:51 bus 1.

Two fares, not one: the ISK 1,800 provincial ticket does not cover the city bus. Tap a contactless card on bus 1 for the ISK 690 single, or use the Klapp app.

On a weekday at 06:27, 07:54, 14:54, 15:54 or 16:54 stay on the bus instead: it goes through to BSÍ for ISK 2,400 in 72 minutes.
