Buy two zones. A one-zone ticket, or the Leinfelden-Echterdingen StadtTicket sold at the airport machines, does not reach the centre.

Four or more of you: the GruppenTagesTicket, EUR 18.90 for up to five, beats EUR 4.90 a head. For exactly four at the machine, a 4er-Ticket at EUR 18.40 is cheaper still.

Sunday to Thursday nights the last train is 00:38; the next thing to the centre is the first U6 at 04:21.

On Saturday no S3 runs to the airport; every train is an S2, every 15 minutes from about 08:00.

Three minutes slower than the S-Bahn to the Hauptbahnhof, but it stops at Charlottenplatz and Schlossplatz on the way, for the old town and the shopping streets.

Weekday mornings it is the first way into town, from 04:21, before the first S-Bahn at 05:08.

On 24–25 October and 31 October–1 November 2026 the U6 runs only from the airport to Weinsteige; replacement buses cover Degerloch Albstraße to Bopser.
