Bus 635 to Freising BahnhoforPre-booked private transfer?

The short answer

These do not go to the same place, so price is not the comparison. The Pre-booked private transfer reaches Hauptbahnhof and Marienplatz; the Bus 635 to Freising Bahnhof does not. Runs to Freising, not into Munich. Freising is the town just north of the airport, in the same MVV zone, and this is the bus the airport itself tells you to take there; for Munich, take the S-Bahn.

The Bus 635 to Freising Bahnhof is quicker: 16 min against 45 min. The Pre-booked private transfer varies between 40 and 75 minutes.

Bus 635 to Freising Bahnhof: 03:51–01:01. Pre-booked private transfer: Runs all night.

Not the S1 — despite the map, Freising and the airport are on separate branches that meet at Neufahrn. Going by S-Bahn means changing there: 33 minutes and three zones for EUR 6.40, against 16 minutes and EUR 2.70 on this bus.

Seven or more should buy one Streifenkarte and stamp a strip each: EUR 18.70 against EUR 18.90 in singles. Six or fewer are cheaper on singles, and the one-zone group day ticket at EUR 15.40 is dearer than five singles.

The last bus is 01:01 and the first 03:51. Between them nothing goes to Freising except, on Friday and Saturday nights, the S8 into Munich and the S1 back out, which is the long way round on an M-5 fare.

The ÜFEX train from the station under the same building is five minutes quicker on the same ticket, but hourly; this bus is every 10 minutes.

The times here come from MVV's journey planner read for three dates in September 2026, because MVV prints no timetable for the 635; check it for the day you travel.
