The bus station for the C200 and 248 is at Terminal 1, two minutes on foot from the terminals and the TGV station. Both buses leave from here for the cheaper way into town.
Tickets
Buy the Rhônexpress fare on your phone before boarding: it's EUR 16.30 against EUR 17.40 at the station machine, and the operator's own site warns some machines are out of order. For the TCL buses, tap a contactless bank card on the reader, or pay the driver in cash for more.
The taxi rank
The rank is outside Terminal 1, open around the clock, with taxis waiting at the foot of the terminal or the TGV station. There is no flat fare here — it is the meter, so the total depends on traffic and time of day.

Buy on your phone before you board, not at the machine and not on board: EUR 16.30 against EUR 17.40 and EUR 21.40. The site itself says the purchase "doit être absolument réalisé avant la montée dans la rame", and warns that some machines are out of order.
It is EUR 16.30 whichever station you get off at. From the airport you may alight at Meyzieu ZI, La Soie or Part-Dieu for the same fare; toward the airport you may board at any of the three.
The ticket buys nothing on TCL. Métro, tram and bus onward need a separate EUR 2.10 ticket, which the agent on board sells.
For Bellecour, Vieux Lyon or Perrache, get off at Vaulx-en-Velin La Soie after 21 minutes and take Métro A; Rhônexpress's own advice, and under 45 minutes in its words.
Under-12s are free with an adult, and the agent may ask for proof of age. From the twelfth birthday it is EUR 10.70.

This is the EUR 2.10 way to the same Part-Dieu the Rhônexpress reaches for EUR 16.30, and it costs about half an hour more. TCL's own FAQ lists it as the way to the airport "avec la tarification TCL".
Hourly for most of the day and all weekend, half-hourly at weekday peaks; the last bus from the airport is 23:32 on weekdays and 23:17 at weekends. If you have just missed one, the Rhônexpress runs every 15 minutes from the station next door.
One ticket covers the change, but validate again on the métro or tram: the hour runs from the first validation and the connection must fall inside it. At 35 to 41 minutes on the bus, it does.
Pay by tapping a bank card on the red validator; TCL says the tap works on most lines in zones 1 and 2 and not at all in zones 3 to 5. Cash to the driver is dearer — EUR 2.40 by TCL's tariff, EUR 2.50 by the airport's page — and the app is Android-only.
For Part-Dieu change to tram T3 at La Soie (13 minutes); for Bellecour, Vieux Lyon or Perrache take Métro A, which ends at Perrache. Métro A's last train from La Soie is 00:01 on its 2025–26 sheet, 01:40 on Fridays and Saturdays.

This is the thinner of the two cheap routes: hourly for most of the day and finished by 21:26 from the airport, on the timetable in effect until 31 August 2026.
The bus wanders through Pusignan for 25 to 28 minutes before Meyzieu ZI; the T3 then takes 29 minutes to Part-Dieu, every 5 to 9 minutes at peak and every 15 in the evening. Allow an hour and a quarter door to door.
It only reaches Part-Dieu. For Bellecour or Perrache take the C200 to La Soie and Métro A instead; the T3 passes La Soie too, but the C200 gets there sooner.
Bus 47 was renumbered 248 on 31 August 2026; the stop names are unchanged and the airport's own page already calls it the 248. Old maps and two of the airport's pages still say 47.

The Rhônexpress reaches Part-Dieu in 29 minutes, every 15 minutes by day. The cheap route takes about an hour: C200 to La Soie (35–41 minutes) then T3 to Part-Dieu (13 minutes) or Métro A to Bellecour and Perrache; or bus 248 to Meyzieu ZI (25–28 minutes) then T3 (29 minutes). The EUR 2.10 ticket is valid an hour from first validation and can be re-validated for the connection within that hour on both routes.
Taxis run on a meter, not a flat fare: EUR 3.10 to start, EUR 1.00 a kilometre by day (up to EUR 3.00 at night), EUR 41.30 an hour waiting, EUR 8 minimum, and EUR 4 for each passenger from the fifth.
